I set my gradebook to show grades by due date (newest to oldest). However, when doing so, it does not work. Nor do the other filters like oldest to newest module, etc. Any suggestions as to how to make it "stick"?
Thanks!
@NancyCallaway -
Based on what you say, when you select the newest to oldest filter as shown below
That after you leave the course and come back that the selection of newest to oldest is not in effect?
If that is the case, I do not know why the filter setting is not being maintained - it is for me (dogbert tech is great). For this situation you may have to contact your Canvas admins who may be able to figure it out, or they could contact canvas support to try and find out what is going on.
If what I mentioned above is not the case, please reply back with some more information.
Ron
Hello @NancyCallaway
In addition to what @Ron_Bowman mentioned - It could be your internet browser and we recommend clearing the cache and cookies or trying another browser.
In ChromeOn your computer, open Chrome.At the top right, click the three dots Click settingsOn the left, choose Privacy and SecurityThen, clear browsing dataAt the top, choose a time range. To delete everything, select All time. I suggest at least 4 weeks Next to "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files," check the boxes.Click Clear data.
This usually resolves intermittent issues when things aren't loading or functioning as expected. If after clearing the cache or trying another browser or device still isn't working, you'll want to contact Canvas Support directly.

Hoping someone can explain for me. We're using pacing to avoid manually dating regular assignments each quarter, but the dates I see are based on when the course was instantiated, while students see dates based on when they were added to the course by [backend software I don't know anything about, presumably]. If I set…
Has anyone else had issues with an influx of duplicate users in Canvas? Ours is currently in the form of an email that already exists, becoming a new user - and not automatically merging with the user ID with the same email that also is linked to our SIS ID correctly as well. For example, user 1 is xyz@gmail.com without a…
Canvas Portfolios provide a powerful platform for students to document their learning journey, reflect on their progress, and showcase competencies. However, in programs where multiple educators are involved in assessment—such as team teaching, moderation, or competency-based evaluation—there are important questions about…
I have a student that was in a tag called "ac" and recently moved him to a different tag, "AC." I did ensure the old tag was removed; however on a canvas PAGE he sees both pages the "ac" and "AC" Canvas Pages. I removed the assigned tags to the page and the one tag to the student thinking maybe if I remove and reassign…
Started testing the new Portfolio today. Our K-12 district is new to Canvas and never implemented a portfolio solution. I was testing the share as a studnet using the 'Anyone can view link' to an outside user = does not have a login ID for our instance of Canvas. As the outside user, I am able to open and read the…
