SpeedGrader ignoring assignment submissions' limits

Hi All, 

We have a number of assignments that are done through an External tool and then graded by SpeedGrader. We noticed that the students are able to exceed the limits we have set on their assignments. Is there a way to enforce the submission limits?

I found this in the Canvas Instructor Guide for this topic (my boldface):

As an instructor, you may be able to limit the number of submission attempts allotted to students for an assignment. Limiting assignment attempts is only available for assignments with the Online submission type.

So I think the answer is that this feature does not work with the External Tool submission type.
