I am working with FACTS/RenWeb SIS support to connect the SIS with Canvas. They are asking for the Canvas Production Token (and Sandbox). How do I generate the appropriate token for RenWeb or if it already exists, where is it found?
Hi @Nethers,
I'm going to take a guess that you need to generate an API token. a token is tied to a specific user account, and is pretty easy to generate when logged in. The tricky part is what account you want to tie that token to and what kind of permissions/role you want to allow. We created a custom role and a specific user account for our SIS integration (notFACTS/RenWeb, but the this advice is pretty universal) to limit permissions to only what we needed, and segment the SIS off from any specific person who might retire or leave later on. FACTS/RenWeb should hopefully be ablke to tell you what exact account permissions they need so you can create a role and user, then generate the token from that account.
Hope this helps!

I am trying to enable differentiation but it is not coming up as an option in my settings. Can someone help?
I have one student who is unable to see the Canvas quizzes. He can click the link to the quiz in the modules list, but the next page is completely empty (except for the usual Canvas navigation on the left). I can't clear the cookies because of the school security settings, but I have tried him on other Chromebooks and…
I recently had an exam provided as a Canvas Quiz in my class, and used some questions copied from question banks from other sections and prior years of the course. Some of those questions had "General Answer Comment" text already saved in them. I changed that text in several questions as I updated/changed the questions.…
I would like to suggest improvements to how collaborations function within Canvas LMS. Currently, collaborations are somewhat limited in how they can be accessed and integrated into course content. One potential improvement would be allowing collaborations to be directly linkable within Pages and Modules. This would make…
We are using the Learning Mastery Gradebook with an rubric on account-level. When we enter the gradebook, the sorting does not make any sense. How can we make the sorting so it makes sense to us. It feels like a randam sorting.
