Bulk copy courses after migration?

We will be migrating our courses from our current LMS soon and were wondering if it would be beneficial to leave those courses unassigned as an archive and then make copies that would be assigned to faculty for editing.

If so, is there an easy way to copy all the courses?

At my previous employer, when we migrated from one LMS (Pearson eCollege's LearningStudio) to Canvas, we had a "Master Term" in eCollege where we housed all of our courses that we had previously built.  We wanted to set up something similar in Canvas, and so when we migrated to Canvas, we also set up a "Master Term" and Instructure helped us migrate our courses.  I wrote a blog posting here in the Canvas Community a while back that details our migration a bit...if it is of interest to you:
