Hiding timers for students with accommodations

Question

In Canvas quizzes, is it possible for a teacher to hide the timer (disable the view of the timer) from a student, but keep the timer on? The query is based for students who have accommodations with extended time, and the teacher wants to keep track of the time, but the visual of the timer is a distraction to the student during the assessment. The only work around I can think of is to have the teacher give the student unlimited time on the quiz but keep a separate timer out of sight.

I think you are correct in your assessment of how to perform this task.  I do not think it is possible to hide the timer via canvas.
