New Help Icon

Question

Hi.

The new Help icon (box with a question mark) is in the middle of the screens (laptops, ipads, and phones). Is there anyway you put this somewhere else, say the left side of the screen because even having it on the right side previously would get in the way of the links on the right side of the screen. Yesterday I needed to print hard copies of my materials I have stored in Canvas to give to a tutor to help with a student and every pageI printed had a the icon (box with the question mark) on my papers. I have included screen shots from both my laptop screen and phone to show you where this icon is popping up at. Additionally I noticed yesterday this icon was in the middle of the screens of my students on their iPads too.

Hi Chris.

I am working out of the free version so unfortunately it is not run by a school canvas admin or learning department. It's all Canvas. But yes you can click on the icon. I have attached a screen shot of what pops up. Thanks for your quick response.

Hello there, @AJ1981 ...

That is certainly strange!  To be honest, this does not appear to be anything that is a part of the core Canvas product.  I would suggest that you reach out to your school's Canvas administrator or someone from their Online Learning / eLearning / Distance Learning department to see what might be going on.  They may have added something to your Canvas environment recently that is causing this icon to appear in odd places like what you have shown.  Also, is that icon clickable?  If so, what kind of content displays after you click on it (out of curiosity)?
