Hi all,
When uploading a SCORM package and outputting as an assignment, full screen works within the package. However when outputted as a page, it doesn't.
Anyone found a getaround that isn't "just use the assignment option??"
Hello @DerrickSmith76
I am suggesting another possible solution. You are wanting to embed the SCORM on a Page and have it open full screen.
Within your creation of the SCORM in the authoring tool you used, you could modify the SCORM package by having a button (label: Open Content) inside of the SCORM package itself, that when clicked, will open the package in full screen, for further reading.
For the button in the SCORM package, use either (example Javacsript):
document.documentElement.requestFullscreen(); OR
document.getElementById("courseContainer").requestFullscreen();
Learners would click on the "Open Content" button and the SCORM package requests full screen.
Regards,
Bruce
Sorry that you have no authoring options. That is the only solution I think would work.
I am not surprised that the "allowfullscreen" doesn't work, as the SCORM package does not have that option built in.
Hi @DerrickSmith76,
I am not sure if it will or will not work but maybe you can edit the HTML of the SCORM package as a page. There should be an iframe tag and you might be able to modify if so it is something like:
iframe
<iframe src="THE_LOCATION_PROVIDED_BY_CANVAS" width="100%" height="600" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen" allow="fullscreen"></iframe>
If you would like, I can try to work with you for this method (no guarantees) on this specific SCORM package if you send me a private message.
Another option would be to create it as an assignment and make it either ungraded or worth 0 points. You can do this by setting the assignments "Display Grade as "Not Graded". The How do I add or edit details in an assignment? guide will show you how.

Hi thanks, I'll give the allowfullscreen a try first. We didn't go with using an assignment as it appears in Gradebook/assignments and the SCORM packages are more further reading.
@BruceRichards_CCHs these packages were send to us so I'm afraid we have no authoring options. I've tried allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen" allow="fullscreen" in a page html without success.
@dbrace I'll drop you a link! Thanks.

For those of you who use the Learning Mastery Gradebook in your courses, what are your thoughts about the updates? Do they improve your understanding of students' outcome mastery? What about the interface? The old version certainly needed some improvements. I did like the pie charts, however. Hovering the mouse pointer…

I have now had a few cases of students' responses in New Quizzes not being recorded. Normally, students get a connection error and can restart, but here they get new questions one at a time with no indication of a problem until they try to submit the exam and find that they can't submit it. Students are losing 20-90% of…
We assign coursework by section, and teachers enter the transfer grades on each assignment from before the student’s enrollment date. However, those grades do not satisfy the modules’ “Submit the assignment” requirements. Students still have to go back to the beginning of the school year and submit blank documents and…
A Discussion assignment needs to be able to have more than 2 due dates. A discussion is just that--a back and forth. To be an effective kind of assignment, Instructure needs to modify them so they can have 3 or more due dates. Students also need to be notified when someone posts within their group. Currently, students turn…
