We are transitioning to Canvas from Moodle, and I'm struggling trying to adapt how I was previously using my rubrics. I'm pretty sure after reading this old archived post that it is still impossible to have assignments "scale" a rubric score to match different point totals for different assignments, but I'm curious whether anyone has an elegant workaround for this situation.
Right now I use the same rubric criteria (and scale) for eight different writing assignments that are progressively worth more points as the semester goes on. I toyed with the idea of creating eight different rubrics, but I would end up with criteria that have awkward fractional scales (some maxing out below 1).
I'm thinking I might also just do the rubric on a PDF and upload that as feedback for the student, and then do the math manually to calculate the assignment's grade. But that feels like a pretty antiquated solution.
Any ideas?
