In the Canvas release Notes, it indicates that an "Add a Link" button has been added in the bottom of the Navigation Menu. It's not there.

That change is part of the Canvas Release Notes (2026-06-20) - Instructure Community, so it won't be available for most users until 6/20/2026 (I believe it may have been initially listed in an earlier release but delayed until June). This feature does also have a permission, so school/institution admins could choose not to give users the permission to create these custom links if they feel that is best for their needs.
