Help opening submissions on older Canvas Teacher App

Question

My iPad is old (only updates to iOS 15.8.6) and only supports the Canvas teacher app version 1.27.0. When I go to grade assignments in the app, it says, "It seems there aren't any valid submissions to grade." even though I can open the submissions just fine on the web browser version.

Is there any way to get this version to open assignments or do I need to buy a new iPad?

Try to update your iOS to a newer version.  If you're unable to do so, it may be time to upgrade your iPad.
