Collaboration within Groups

I'm an instructional designer working with a faculty member who wants all of the students in the class to work in groups to complete a feedback form together, with contributions from each group member. The way the Canvas Collaborations instructions are written, I don't understand how to make this happen. Do we set up a separate Collaboration for each group? Or if we use the "assign to groups" function, does Canvas know that we want a separate collaboration for each group?

The use of collaborations and groups are probably two initial sets ups and then combining them.

Initially, the teacher will need to set up groups in their course, then the teacher will be able to view the student contributions in the group.

Then a document for collaboration, for each group, through google docs or Microsoft can be added to the group for sharing and collaboration

Another option for the group work is a group assignment that could be added and all contribute.

There are many ways to achieve a very similar outcome, it will come down to what the learning outcomes and requirements are for the student and teacher.
