ETA: never mind! I had done my "testing" in the wrong quiz, which was a Classic Quiz quiz. I just tried again in the correct (migrated) new quiz, and I see now that the "file upload" question type DOES show the image in SG!

I rarely use Canvas quizzes, but am teaching a new asynch class this semester. I want students to upload an image. I did some testing and discovered that, in speedgrader, it seems to be the case that a file upload question does not render a preview of the image file in speedgrader. (Note that a file upload
assignment does render the image preview in SG - go figure?).
My workaround is to instead make it as essay question type, and direct students to insert the image, which again, does render the image in SG. It all seems so inconsistent.
Is there a setting or something that I'm missing that would allow me to use the file upload question type in a quiz, and have the image render in SG without having to download it?
