Creating a submission via quiz but was wondering if the students can record right from the quiz rather than uploading a video they created (on their phone)?
You can use the "Essay" question type (this should work with both New and Classic quizzes). Students will have access to an RCE text box that provides an option to upload/record media. They should be able to record and submit a video that way.
I would love to see a question type specifically for recording and uploading video responses in the future.
