My instructor says her end is showing the assignments as published, but they are not showing in my portal. She has advised me to start a ticket with Canvas. How do I do that?
Hi @KarinBesand ...
Unfortunately, the vast majority of us here in the Canvas Community are unable to see your school's Canvas environment or the course you are taking. I am not 100% sure of this, but your instructor may have the course configured such that you access most or all of the content via the "Modules" page of the course. Do you see an "Assignments" link on the left-hand course navigation menu? How do I view Assignments as a student? If you do not see the "Assignments" link in your course, then this means your instructor has most likely chosen to hide this menu option from you and your classmates. Not to worry, though. If your instructor has hidden this menu from you and your classmates, hopefully he/she has also added the assignment to the "Modules" page of your course so that you can access the assignment and the directions. But, this may have also been an oversight on the part of your instructor. If the "Assignments" page is not available, and if your instructor has "published" the assignment, it is possible that your instructor just forgot to add the assignment to one of the modules on the "Modules" page of the course. Even though your instructor has indicated that the assignment is published, your instructor should ensure that he/she either:
If the above does not apply, and if you and your instructor are still having difficulties with this issue, then you can reach out to the Canvas Help Desk staff by using the "Help" menu found on the far left-hand global navigation menu in Canvas. How do I get help with Canvas?
I hope the above information will be of some help to you. Please let Community members know if you have any other questions about this...thanks!
I was very excited to see the new version of the speed grader comment library that lets you save comments to specific assignments. I hadn't used the comment library much in the past because it got too clunky and hard too sort through, but I was very excited to be able to save comment "trunks" to particular assignments and…
Summary:The Learning Mastery Gradebook allows drag-and-drop reordering of outcome columns, and this triggers a call to /api/v1/courses/:course_id/assign_outcome_order. The API returns 204 No Content (success), but the column order does not persist after page refresh. Steps to Reproduce: Open Learning Mastery Gradebook for…
Hi all, Quick question about the Gradebook color status for a 2-part checkpoint discussion. If a student completes the first due date (initial post) but does not complete the required replies by the second due date, is there any way for Canvas to automatically show a color (e.g., missing/late) instead of staying as…
Canvas Portfolios provide a powerful platform for students to document their learning journey, reflect on their progress, and showcase competencies. However, in programs where multiple educators are involved in assessment—such as team teaching, moderation, or competency-based evaluation—there are important questions about…
In legacy SpeedGrader, the instructors see students' initial post followed by replies. Why is it no longer listed that way in the Modernized SpeedGrader? Grading is made easier if the initial post is first, making it easily identifiable.
