Allowing students to go past the time limit on a Quiz

Hi,

Right now, as far as I can see, if I set a time limit for a quiz in Canvas, then once the time comes up, they are done. I would like students to be allowed to go past the time. Blackboard had a setting where students were notified that they have gone beyond the time limit but allowed them to keep working, then when I reviewed the quiz afterward, I could see how far over the time limit each student went, if anyone did. I don't have a problem with a student taking an extra minute or two on a quiz. Is there a setting? I'm using "New Quizzes."

In the moderate page of the New Quiz, you can adjust timer settings to add more time, but it's not automatic as the student takes longer: How do I moderate a student's quiz attempt in New ... - Instructure Community - 655
