When viewing a student's grade record in Blackboard, a teacher can see if assignment feedback has been viewed by the student. Does Canvas have this feature? If so, how do I find it? TIA!
Hi @DanielBarwick,
It depends on where the teacher left the feedback but the answer might be yes.
If you review the How do I view the details of a submission for a student in SpeedGrader? - Instructure Community - 762 support article, it has a "Verify Student Annotation Views" section. In that section, if a student has viewed annotation feedback that was left in the SpeedGrader, there will be a reference displayed there underneath the submission date.
Another recommendation I have come across is:
If you add annotations using the DocViewer in Speedgrader, you can see when the students have opened and viewed your feedback [as I explained above]. There isn't a way to see if they have viewed comments left from the gradebook or under assignment comments. However, you can require them to respond to those comments as a way to verify they have viewed that feedback.

I hope you found this helpful.

I have one student who is unable to see the Canvas quizzes. He can click the link to the quiz in the modules list, but the next page is completely empty (except for the usual Canvas navigation on the left). I can't clear the cookies because of the school security settings, but I have tried him on other Chromebooks and…
I recently had an exam provided as a Canvas Quiz in my class, and used some questions copied from question banks from other sections and prior years of the course. Some of those questions had "General Answer Comment" text already saved in them. I changed that text in several questions as I updated/changed the questions.…
I would like to suggest improvements to how collaborations function within Canvas LMS. Currently, collaborations are somewhat limited in how they can be accessed and integrated into course content. One potential improvement would be allowing collaborations to be directly linkable within Pages and Modules. This would make…
We are using the Learning Mastery Gradebook with an rubric on account-level. When we enter the gradebook, the sorting does not make any sense. How can we make the sorting so it makes sense to us. It feels like a randam sorting.
Can Canvas please create the option to use a "total points" system such that both the gradebook and the student grades page can show accumulated total points, not as a fraction of total points earned/total points possible? This would be SO helpful for progress tracking in a self-paced course where I do not want 0s entered…
