My students work at their own pace, and some are done before due dates. I would like to be able to sync their grades as it happens, but i dont want a zero or missing to show up in IC, because it isnt missing or a zero, it isnt due yet!!

Because the process for synching grades can be customized at each school using Canvas, I would recommend that you reach out to your school's Canvas team for guidance.
