I am an instructor. Trying to recover a message to/from a student that I inadvertently deleted. Any way to do that?

It is not possible to restore or recover an individual reply/comment in a discussion.
What you might be able to do (depending on when the reply/comment was made and deleted) by working with either your school's Canvas team or with Canvas Support is view the discussion from that last time it appeared in either beta (refreshed in Canvas every Saturday) or test (refreshed on the third Saturday of the month).

Among all the things that I wish Canvas had is that one! Is it something that is been worked on? We had it in Blackboard (legacy) and I sorely miss and need in Canvas (we just transitioned to it from Bb). Please add this very needed feature!
I have Canvas set to drop the lowest quiz score, however, my students can only barely tell that the grade text is slightly grey when dropped. Can it have a tag like the "missing" and "exempt" ones in the student gradebook?
My Canvas shell has three different sections that all meet at different times throughout the week.
