Canvas Quiz - Hotspot - Why does backtracking clear the answer

I love using the hotspot feature in Canvas Quiz, however for exams that have many questions I set them up as 1 question at a time but allow backtracking. 

However I have noticed recently that whenever a student of mine wishes to backtrack to review their answers before submitting their exam, it clears their hotspot answers.

How can I prevent that from happening?

 

I have searched for this answer online and not found any insight

Hi @RachelKuehn,

A fellow Community Coach actually brought this issue up last week, but I haven't had a chance to test it myself yet.  Since you're experiencing the same thing, it sounds like a bug.  I'd definitely recommend that you contact Canvas support to report this if you're able to, as they are the only group that can really handle bug reports and get hem to the right teams to fix.  I think the other coach may have reported the issue already, but the generally having more people report a bug will have it get a higher priority to fix.
