Convert XML to QTI

We had used McGraw Hill eBook to assign homework for students - the book changed- we had exported these assignments in XLM format (which isn't compatible with canvas) can we convert XML into QTI to be compatible with canvas? or any other ideas?

If you unzip a QTI it becomes a series of XML files. Have you tried zipping the XML files (Windows instructions / Mac instructions) and then importing?
