One of students is abroad in South America and has lost access to the internet. She texted me her discussion post. How do I as instructor post her discussion on the discussion board so others may respond to it?
Hey @seshadris ,
Thanks for posting on the Instructure Community!
As an instructor, I always recommend either going into student view and pasting the discussion response there, however the name of the 'account' will be 'Test Student'. Or, you could always just post it on your own account and just specify who's response it is. However, without being a canvas account admin at the root-level and with having the Users - act as permission enabled for your account, you can't really post the discussion on behalf of her.
Hope that helps!- Noah
Hi @seshadris - My recommendation might be to just do a regular Reply with your own account, and in the Text box, using the Rich Content Editor tools, create a Header that says something like "Reply on Behalf of {Student's Name}" -- then paste their response.
That header will look large and may help others identify it as from that student (I've included a screenshot as an example).
Hope this helps!
Thanks, Noah.
Thanks, Hildi. That is a great solution.
I use Peer Reviews extensively. I teach photo and digital art across many sections. The functionality needs to improve around sections. I find it very difficult that I cannot at the very least sort or filter students by section in the peer review panel. Manually assigning 50 kids is awful. Has anyone figured out a…
I've discovered that many of the teachers at my school are posting Google Docs or Sheets with their assignments and descriptions to their homepages rather than individual assignments. Many are hesitant to use the assignment feature due to the tedious nature of creating a new 'assignment'. I was hoping I could create a .csv…
Our "Outcomes" has not been working for about 6 months. Teachers can't build and attach Outcomes to new quizzes. Canvas said it was a rollover issue. Canvas won't fix it unless we pay them $2000 to "re-train" us for 10 hours. Has anyone had this problem and did it get fixed?
I am currently teaching a high school Spanish course, and many of my assignments use the fill-in-the-blank question type in new quizzes. The problem that I'm encountering is when a question requires a special character, such as an accented vowel (examples include: á Ó or ü) or the special letter ñ (which is a different…
Has anyone found gaps in their course analytics ? I'm currently seeing missing last view date, last participation date, and participations at overall course level, even though the same data is present at individual week and student level. Am also seeing truncated asset counts ie we are seeing only the global header counts,…
