Why does clicking anything in the modules load a useless page and open a new tab?

How do I change the settings to not have the attached image page load when clicking on literally anything. Why can't the tab containing the item I need just load and leave the original page the way it is? It would make navigation a lot easier instead of needing to navigate back the module page that shouldn't have changed in the first place.

Hi @sflynnhsd2,

In my experience with Canvas, a message like that appears in one of two (technically the reason is similar) situations:

an external URL item was added to a module and it was configured to "Load in a new tab"
an external tool item was added to a module and it was configured to "Load in a new tab"

Do either of those relate to how your course is designed?

Among all the things that I wish Canvas had is that one! Is it something that is been worked on? We had it in Blackboard (legacy) and I sorely miss and need in Canvas (we just transitioned to it from Bb). Please add this very needed feature!
