This sounds like a request for an enhancement to existing functionality within Canvas. I'm not sure if you are aware of this or not, but there's a separate area here in the Community to submit your ideas for consideration. You'll want to review the documents listed under the heading "Ideas and Themes" located at this link to start your idea submission:

It's also possible you might find that someone has already submitted an idea that is similar to what you're requesting...and in that case, you don't have to submit an idea because it already exists.
