The assignments in my Canvas courses do not seem to be in any particular order. Is there a way to arrange them in alphabetical order in a mass fashion other than dragging them one by one?
Hi @jamin_hoffman - It is worth noting that students have a date-based sort and a type-based sort in the Assignments list. The date-based sort uses due dates and is the default view. The type-based sort matches the manual order & assignment groups created by teachers.

As far as I know there is not a way to do what you want. This option has been added to the ideas and themes section, so it may be developed.
There are other posts in the forum with the same question and the same results. My only advice to make everything a little easier would be to use assignment groups You then would sort the individual groups(if necessary - depends on how many assignments are in each group). Plus with Assignment groups, you can change the order in which the assignments appear in the grade book.
Here is the post where the idea has been added to the themes area.

How can I delete complete calendars for courses already past? As a teacher I am not able to look at or update the calendar for my next course, but if I change to the student view it shows the calendar just fine. I assume this is because CANVAS selects only the first 10 calendars to show, and I am sure I am beyond that…
Hoping someone can explain for me. We're using pacing to avoid manually dating regular assignments each quarter, but the dates I see are based on when the course was instantiated, while students see dates based on when they were added to the course by [backend software I don't know anything about, presumably]. If I set…
Has anyone else had issues with an influx of duplicate users in Canvas? Ours is currently in the form of an email that already exists, becoming a new user - and not automatically merging with the user ID with the same email that also is linked to our SIS ID correctly as well. For example, user 1 is xyz@gmail.com without a…
Canvas Portfolios provide a powerful platform for students to document their learning journey, reflect on their progress, and showcase competencies. However, in programs where multiple educators are involved in assessment—such as team teaching, moderation, or competency-based evaluation—there are important questions about…
I have a student that was in a tag called "ac" and recently moved him to a different tag, "AC." I did ensure the old tag was removed; however on a canvas PAGE he sees both pages the "ac" and "AC" Canvas Pages. I removed the assigned tags to the page and the one tag to the student thinking maybe if I remove and reassign…
