Lumen Integration and New Quiz Question Type

Question

I have an instructor who wants to use our Canvas integration with LockDown Browser with Lumen Learning. However, Lumen requires a "text no question" question type in order to embed the Lumen links for students to begin exams. I would like to begin moving over to New Quizzes, but I am holding off because of issues like this one. Does anyone have a suggested workaround or know if New Quizzes will add this type of question to the mix?

Hi Amber,

The closest type of question for that in new quizzes would be a stimulus. When converting classic quizzes to new quizzes, that's what the "text (no question)" question type gets converted into. I'm not too familiar with Lumen, or how it would integrate into new quizzes, but it's worth a try to see if it will connect it properly through a stimulus.

Thank you @MatthewClifft! I did create a stimulus question and linked the Lumen assignment there. I then added a T/F "I completed the exam." question for students to submit upon completion. It worked perfectly in Respondus LockDown Browser! 🙂
