How to expand columns in grade book view for students?

Hi there,

I've noticed that when I or a student view their grades, the assignment names are condensed to to the left side of the screen.  How do I expand that so that it is easier for my students to read the assignment names?

Students cannot adjust the width of the columns like Teachers can do in their own Gradebook view.  Is there any way that you can reduce the length of those assignment names?  I think that would be a good start.
