It would be very nice to be able to have extremely small font sizes in Canvas as a means to add some hidden text to put in a trojan request to detect cheating with AI. The smallest it can go right now is 8pt.
Hello there, @TAMRAROSSITER ...
There is a separate area here in the Community website where you can submit your ideas for consideration. If you check out the Guides under the heading "Ideas and Themes", one of the Guides gives details on how to create a new idea.
Instructure Community Guide - Instructure Community (canvaslms.com)
Or, you can just go to:
How do I create a new idea in the Instructure Comm... - Instructure Community - 2986 (canvaslms.com)
I hope this will be of help to you. Sing out if you have any questions...thanks!
Hi @TAMRAROSSITER,
While I understand your request, I'd advise proceeding this way with a LOT of caution. While you might be trying to "catch" students using AI to cheat, you might end up negatively affecting students who may use a screen reader of other assistive technology, and your hidden text may become visible if students are, for example, using dark mode on the Canvas app. Just wanted to quickly mention these as things to think about so you don't end up creating even bigger problems that what you're trying to solve.

This is my first time using the new discussion "checkpoints". I'm hoping the multiple due dates are effective, but using the "checkpoints" does seem to create other problems: They only allow for ONE "reply to topic". The way I use discussions in some of my classes is to allow for students to ask MULTIPLE questions per…
