I was curious about this user role.
I found guides for all the other user roles (Student, Teacher, Observer, Designer, and TA) but could not find what permission are/are not granted for this user role.

The "Aide" role that you speak of sounds to me like a custom role that your school's Canvas administrator has set up on the back-end of Canvas. "Aide" is not an "out-of-the-box" role provided by Instructure (the folks that make Canvas). Check out this Guide for more details on the roles that you get from Instructure:
What user roles and permissions are available in Canvas?

We're using pacing to avoid manually dating regular assignments each quarter, but the dates I see are based on when the course was instantiated, while students see dates based on when they were added to the course by [backend software I don't know anything about, presumably]. For example, user 1 is xyz@gmail.com without a…
Canvas Portfolios provide a powerful platform for students to document their learning journey, reflect on their progress, and showcase competencies. However, in programs where multiple educators are involved in assessment—such as team teaching, moderation, or competency-based evaluation—there are important questions about…
I wonder if others have had this response, but I think it is troubling messaging for students that, no matter how well they may do on an assignment, they are given a signal that anything below a perfect score should be marked/denoted with a red color, as if those grades are poor, or even lesser. I think it is harmful for…
I have a student that was in a tag called "ac" and recently moved him to a different tag, "AC." I did ensure the old tag was removed; however on a canvas PAGE he sees both pages the "ac" and "AC" Canvas Pages. I removed the assigned tags to the page and the one tag to the student thinking maybe if I remove and reassign…
