External Links Disappear

When I create my homepage, I have external link to important google docs. I'll type "Princeton Page Guide", highlight it, click insert, click link, click external link, paste link. Text turns blue, save. The only thing that shows up on homepage is black box with arrow and blue box with arrow. You can click blue and get the doc, but you have know idea what you're opening. I've attached screenshots.

When adding an external link via the text exitor, be sure that the "Text" box still shows the actual text that you want to be used for the link:

Sometimes, during cutting and pasting, I'll find that the text that I've selected has disappeared (especially if I'm also pasting a URL), so you'll need to re-enter the text in this box if you don't see it.
