Rubric settings with Outcomes

When using a rubric with account-level Outcomes, does that rubric need to be set as "Use for grading"? Or will the data be collected as long as the instructor actually uses the rubric even if it is not used to tally the assignment score?

From some limited experience with this you need to distinguish between 'use this criterion for scoring' when initially importing the outcome to the rubric, and 'use this rubric for grading' when deploying the rubric to the assignment grading

The impact of selecting 'use for scoring' is that the outcomes become part of the calculation for the submitted work, not selecting allows the outcome results/mastery to be captured without influencing the assignment grade
'Use this rubric for grading' automatically calculates and inputs a grade to speedgrader based on selection/input to rubric by the instructor
- Note that you must select this before grading the first assignment or you will not be able to change this later
As long as the instructor selects the outcome results in the rubric, my experience suggests that this will update Mastery irrespective of whether the outcomes form part of the assignment calculation, and irrespective of whether the rubric is used for grading
