Canvas Quizzes - Adding Time, still getting Times Up! Message - cannot extend Quiz Time

I'm having trouble with a Canvas Quiz setting, in the Moderate Tab there is an option to Add Time for a quiz - however when I add the time to a particular student Ex: + 5, 10, 20, minutes or an hour Students still receive a Times Up! Message and cannot access the quiz to resume their response.

When students are taking the exam they still receive a Time's Up Message and cannot access the Exam to make changes/complete the exam, even after I have manually re-opened the Quiz.

 

Any help here would be appreciated - I am trying to give some/all students more time to complete the Quiz.

Hi @CP_R,

As far as I know right now, any time extensions have to be done before a student starts their quiz attempt.  Once an attempt is started, there is not a way to add extra time to it.  I know the institution I work for has brought this issue up to Instructure a few times, so I hope it's eventually addressed, but I don't know of anything immediately in the works on the issue.

I hope this at least answers the question, even though it's probably not the answer you wanted to hear.
