Does anybody know if Canvas ingests ClassLink Role Type 'Aide' or 'Proctor'?
Hello @elarsenpps
Thank you for contacting the Instructure Community. I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "ClassLink" but in regards to adding users to courses under roles such as "aide" and "proctor" yes you can - depending on what the school has set up. Admins can create custom roles within the permissions tab for a school(s) or institution. This is often roles like aides, librarians, etc. It is an option absolutely - but you will need to speak with the school directly first and ask them to create the roles. Additionally, the school can restrict certain roles from adding other roles. i.e. a teacher can add a "TA" but cannot add student or proctor. They should be able to assist with any of this - hopefully it helps.
I'm trying to figure out whether Canvas Portfolio will work for me this year with my 11th graders. We are introducing a curriculum that has a portfolio component but does not specify the platform. I would like to try Evaluation Portfolios but am confused by the information in the guides. The Guide for Portfolio says Once…
I am setting up my courses for this year and I realized that when I opend the mastery-based gradebook, there is no color coding. When I open last years's course that had color-coding last time I opened it in the spring, it no longer has colors. The colors appear in the individual student view, but not in the all class view.
Hoping someone can explain for me. We're using pacing to avoid manually dating regular assignments each quarter, but the dates I see are based on when the course was instantiated, while students see dates based on when they were added to the course by [backend software I don't know anything about, presumably]. If I set…
Has anyone else had issues with an influx of duplicate users in Canvas? Ours is currently in the form of an email that already exists, becoming a new user - and not automatically merging with the user ID with the same email that also is linked to our SIS ID correctly as well. For example, user 1 is xyz@gmail.com without a…
Canvas Portfolios provide a powerful platform for students to document their learning journey, reflect on their progress, and showcase competencies. However, in programs where multiple educators are involved in assessment—such as team teaching, moderation, or competency-based evaluation—there are important questions about…
