Hello,
I am looking for an easier way than copy & paste to make a quiz from a Google doc. Is there a better solution than "Automagical Forms" which costs $260 per year?
Thanks,
Dave
Hi @dheup,
You could check out Respondus, which has some software to try to convert a word doc into a quiz (and you could download the google doc as word format). I don't know the license cost for it, and I can say I haven't personally had great luck in the few times I've tried to help faculty use their software, but I know others love the program. We usually end up doing copy/paste to ensure everything ends up exactly how everyone wants it. It's definitely a laborious and tedious task, but for a few small quizzes it's doable.

Hello @dheup ...
I also agree with @chriscas about using Respondus. I actually have a blog post here in the Community about what it is and what it does, so you can read more about it here: Batch Uploading Quiz Questions with Respondus. I no longer have access to this software, however, as I am no longer at the school where I used Respondus to build quizzes. However, if you have any questions, I can try and help as best I can.
Unfortunately, Respondus won't work for us since we are on Macs. I'm also guessing their website (https://web.respondus.com/support/online-order-form/) that says the software runs on Windows 10, 8, 7 is simply out of date and it will actually run on Windows 11.
Hi everyone, It looks like the multiple rubric idea has bounced around a bit with the different feature request methodologies over the years, including a mention in New & Next 2024 according to this post, interviews in the enhanced rubrics features group, being listed as "under consideration" on the new roadmap, and this…
I recently had an exam provided as a Canvas Quiz in my class, and used some questions copied from question banks from other sections and prior years of the course. Some of those questions had "General Answer Comment" text already saved in them. I changed that text in several questions as I updated/changed the questions.…
I would like to suggest improvements to how collaborations function within Canvas LMS. Currently, collaborations are somewhat limited in how they can be accessed and integrated into course content. One potential improvement would be allowing collaborations to be directly linkable within Pages and Modules. This would make…
We are using the Learning Mastery Gradebook with an rubric on account-level. When we enter the gradebook, the sorting does not make any sense. How can we make the sorting so it makes sense to us. It feels like a randam sorting.
Can Canvas please create the option to use a "total points" system such that both the gradebook and the student grades page can show accumulated total points, not as a fraction of total points earned/total points possible? This would be SO helpful for progress tracking in a self-paced course where I do not want 0s entered…
