Add Padding to Icons on a page?

I have created a Home page which is a resource for faculty. On this page there are several icons I made w/the icon maker tool. 

I cannot figure out how to space the icons out evenly so they are not right next to each other. 

Do I need to add padding or do I just use the spacebar to create the needed space between the icons? 

PS - I LOVE THE ICON MAKER!!

The best way to provide separate is to add the  style="padding: attribute to the  tag for each of the icons. The spacebar is not an effective way to create space, as browsers like to ignore the extra spaces that we make with the spacebar.
