New Faculty member can's seem to edit Canvas

I have watched how-to videos. I have read and clicked through question answers and still the canvas that I access never has the buttons that are referred to.

My department admin has uploaded a syllabus and a course title - but it is an older version - I'd like to updater it - no edit button ever appears- there is just me endless clisking on things and nothing happening.

Need help to get this up for the students ASAP.

I think you are going to need to reach out to your school's Canvas Administrator (not your department admin) to see if there is a different role you need for that course or if there are current permissions that are not allowing you to edit content in the course.  You might try reaching out to your school's Online Learning / eLearning / Distance Education department, too (which might be the same as the Canvas Administrator).  Hopefully you'll get this resolved soon.  Good luck to you!
