I would like to know if there is a way that I can view my children's assignment calendar separately as an observer. It is somewhat confusing to look at the calendar with ALL their classes list.

Earlier this year, there was a release that allows Observers to select which student to view! It should be a wonderful change for observers with multiple students.
How do I use the Dashboard as an observer?
Note, that if you use this option, you may have to refresh your screen for everything to appear correctly. (I've heard it feels like a pause.) There's a known issue right now with this feature, and it should be resolved soon.
