I am unaware of this exists or if this is something that is even possible in Canvas. But one of my favorite features of grading in the Google Classroom grader was the ability to grade a single question at a time, and grade every single submission's question from there. I loved the ability to just choose question 1, see all…
My assignment's tab is getting really long. Two main concerns here: 1. There is no way to sort alphabetically, due date, etc., seems pretty archaic for 2025 2. There is no way to multi-select assignments to delete, move, etc. Can the instructor side of assignments be updated for more functionality?
I have four modules for my class, and it would be really nice if I could create sub-modules that are collapsible so the students don't see a daunting list of 50+ things within one Module. Imagine like Sub-units that can be expanded to show work without needing to scroll through the massive list.
Hi all, I am in the process of replacing embedded Canvas Video Tutorials with the newer Canvas Shorts. I've discovered that the handy keyboard shortcuts option in the New Media Player has been replaced with a button to copy a link that, when pasted into a new tab, takes you to a detailed transcript with screenshots…
Hello, We have students who transfer into a course, and while I can transfer the grades, they are still required to submit something if that is the requirement in the module. Is there any way to mark the submission status as complete without actually having to submit anything? We have some half-hour EdPuzzle video quizzes,…
Since AI has made it so easy for students to complete assignments without doing the work themselves, I have started using a lot for in-person "on paper" assessments. I would love to keep a record of these in Canvas attached to each student, so they can see feedback sooner and I can still see their work even after I hand…
Over the past term, I’ve explored multiple Canvas tools to build a “student channel” workflow: a space where students can post updates or reflections and receive timely, individualized responses. My goal was to create a system that supports: * Private, threaded dialogue. * Instructor notifications for new student posts. *…
I am building a Canvas LMS course for a group of simulations. I want the files to be viewable only - no downloading (select files) at all. Is this possible in Canvas? Thank you, Renee
Our team has received a request for comprehensive gradebook data, specifically: * Complete Gradebook scores (not just final course grades, but how each student performed on weekly assignments) * For all Online MBA students * Covering the full history of the program going back many semesters I believe the goal is to align…
I am constantly having this problem where students attempt to send me an attached PDF file over the Canvas inbox and it always fails. As far as I know, the student never gets an error message and they assume I got the attachment. After several back and forth conversations, I get the student to use my regular university…
