Resetting a Canvas Course - Does the Course ID & Course Listing Remain?

I have found contradictory answers about this online.

When resetting a course, do the Course ID & Course Listing remain?

Is there anything special one must do to have it retain these items - or to restore these items, after resetting a Canvas Course Shell's content.

The course title, course code, and SIS ID not change after a reset, but the course ID (the numeric value following /courses/ in the URL does change. As far as I know, there is no way to retain the original ID.

@leward is correct.  Essentially, what the Reset does is it creates a new course shell with a new CourseID number, and it moves all the enrollments from the old course into the new one.  The original course shell is still there, but there are no enrollments in it.  If you didn't take note of the original CourseID number and needed that for some reason, you could log in to your school's "test" or "beta" environment (but timing will be key here) because your original course would (hopefully) still be there, and you could take note of the CourseID number.  In very rare instances, as a Canvas admin, I have had to restore a course in Canvas that had originally been reset.  Thankfully, I was able to find the original CourseID in "test" or "beta", and then I used the following Guide to restore the course in "production":
