Why is Canvas not calming at all???

Why don't we add minecraft music in the background for a more soothing experience. This will engage students more, and create a better environment. Obviously it doesn't have to be og minecraft music, but any classical piano music would be perfect for this sight, in my opinion. What do you think?

Nothing says academic focus quite like quietly typing a discussion post while Minecraft piano music convinces you it is two AM and you should build a house instead of finishing your assignment. 😁

In all seriousness though, the idea of calming background music is solid. The challenge is that if added, half the class will feel relaxed and the other half will immediately start wondering where the nearest creeper is. Classical piano might be the safest option since it lowers stress without triggering an urge to mine diamonds. If considered, we would need a mute button for anyone who suddenly feels the need to punch a tree.

ps. my personal view is that provision and support of music would be a distraction from the core mission. I'd rather development time be put into something that we don't already have a solution for. Music can be played in another tab, for example. But that is just my take. 😊

So I entered my recommendation to the link you gave, but I kind of want to know what exactly the core mission is, and also making just simple calming music playing in the background with no ads would be so much better than playing on another tab. Also, I’m curious how long would it take to put my idea into canvas?🤔

Awesome - I am glad you found it. In my view Canvas provides a platform for teaching and learning to occur.

For your remaining question, my hunch is that it won't be at top of a development list, but I am just a volunteer helping with Q&A and am not involved with such important decisions. But who knows, other fun things such as animated confetti appearing in certain areas had made the list.

I think it should also have an option to play "boss fight" type music during quizzes to improve focus.
