Creating a Meeting with your Class group

I'm new here! :)

How do you create a meeting with your class group in Canvas?

When I attempt to compose a message, I select the course and then choose “Student Group,” but the only option that appears is a “Back” button with an arrow. No student names or group members appear for me to contact.

Either your instructor has restricted student-to-student messaging, or you aren't currently assigned to a group within that specific course.

Here are the most likely reasons you can't see your group members:

• Privacy Settings - Many institutions disable the ability for students to view or message other students directly to protect privacy. If the "People" tab is missing from your course menu, this is likely the case.
• Group Assignment - If you aren't actually in a group (or the group hasn't been "published" or activated yet), the "Student Group" option will be empty.
• Course Permissions - Even if you are in a group, if the instructor has restricted the "Inbox" or "Messaging" tools, you won't be able to initiate contact through that interface.
