I have a unit that wants to include a link to the next course listing in the Listing Completion email, so users will be directed towards it, but this functionality is not possible with Emails customized just at the catalog level.
Hello @dlindsey,
There are two supported approaches you may want to consider. One option is to use Post Enrollment nudges. Post Enrollment nudges allow you to send targeted follow up messaging to enrolled learners, which gives you more flexibility in both timing and messaging. This can be an effective way to promote the next course in a sequence and drive continued engagement. You can read more about this option here: . This approach works particularly well if you want more tailored messaging or a progression strategy that extends beyond a single transactional email.
If you prefer to use the Listing Completion email specifically, the only supported way to customize that message differently for a specific group of listings is to group the related sequential courses into their own subcatalog. Email templates can be customized at the subcatalog level, so placing those sequential courses into a dedicated subcatalog would allow you to tailor the Listing Completion email for that group and include a link to the next course in the sequence. This works best when a department manages a defined set of offerings that follow a consistent progression path and require distinct messaging from the broader catalog.
Best, Máté
Thanks for the reply. I'll try and point them towards post enrollment nudges.
Because Catalog only supports a single payment for an entire purchase, I want the entire transaction to happen in Stripe so that our learners can pay over an arbitrary number of months to Stripe and each payment is reported to Canvas. My understanding is this would require special coding and API/webhooks. Has anyone done…
Hi, I was wondering if there was anything in the pipeline so on Canvas Catalog it could link to an entire sub-catalogue? We are using our Catalog instance to list Professional Development & Compliance courses to colleagues. For some courses, we have multiple listings (huge kudos to the multiple listings connecting to…
Is it possible to have viewing a page or satisfying the requirements of a module be part of the course pacing?
We have a training that people can take which is set as a canvas course. But before they take the training, we want them to have the prerequisite of taking a different course A in catalog. I don't want to set up a program because they may not want to take the training if they took course A and decided that training isn't…
Currently, the listings filters only allow filtering by Listing Creation Date. Is there a way to filter by course's start or end dates instead? In our case, listings are created at various times, but we track revenue and enrollment by academic term/semester (which, I can specify using date ranges on course dates), not by…
