Hiding students who complete a course

We are a credit retrieval school where students do one course every 4ish weeks. We load students into a course through Skyward (grade posting/transcript service) and Canvas and Skyward sync to load students into Canvas courses. Our issue is that when a student finishes a course, and their grade is transcripted in Skyward, the course still shows in Canvas. We have tried selecting "Conclude" in the use details page, but when they sync happens overnight, students show back up.

Is there a way to hide these students who complete the course so they don't keep showing up in the teachers' dashboards as well as on the student dashboard, making them think they have more to do?

This may not get to exactly what you are looking to accomplish, but do your instructors and your students use the star (favorite) feature within the "All Courses" screen of Canvas to "favorite" courses that they see on their Dashboard? When users click on "Courses" on the far left-hand global navigation menu and then select "All Courses", they will see a listing of all their courses. Depending on if the course is "active" or not, it can be marked with a "star" to place it on the Canvas Dashboard. And, if a course has been favorited already, the star can be removed so that it no longer appears on the Dashboard. This is an individual user setting. Keep in mind that if no courses are favorited on the "All Courses" screen, then up to 20 courses will show on the Canvas Dashboard.

Thanks. That will help our students, but we still need a way for teachers to hide the students who complete a class.

Is there ANY way to automate/force Canvas to sync ungraded assignments with Veracross SIS? right now our only solution is to require teachers to enter a fake grade, sync, and then remove it. I am willing to entertain 3rd party solutions if there is one available.

Late Canvas assignments not being marked late when synced to Skyward
When a student turns in a late assignment, I need it to also show as late in Skyward. Having to go in and manually mark multiple assignments late for 130 students is tedious and time consuming. If Canvas recognizes the assignment as late, the same mark needs to be sent to Skyward when it is synced.
