Feature Suggestion: Itemized Sync Option for Blueprint Courses

Please let me know if this is better posted in a different forum. Still learning the ropes of the Community!

I'd love to see the option of an itemized sync for Blueprint courses. Many of our faculty make course updates throughout the semester for the next semester's courses, but don't necessarily want those updates to appear to the current semester's students. However, they may still need to sync some items throughout the semester.

It would be great if a list could appear that would show all of the new changes to be synced in a blueprint course, and the option to check or uncheck a box to sync those changes.

Canvas Ideas is on hold for now, so a few people, including myself, have been doing what you're doing and asking like this.

One way to get around this is to implement a versioning SOP. This is what we do in our organization. We end up including the course's code and a version date in the blueprint's course code to create the versioning.

Example:
A course code for a Chemistry 101 class could be CH1101. Your version date could be a number of things (e.g., 01.2026, Spring26, 26-01-01, SY27-Fall, etc.), so you could set your blueprint's code to CH1101_SY27-Fall and create the fall semester's Chemistry 101 classes attached to that blueprint only. Once you're ready to create the blueprint for the next semester, copy the existing blueprint (so you have all the content pre-made) into a new course, turn it into a blueprint, and give it a new code (e.g., CH1101_SY27-Spring). This allows your instructors to work in a new blueprint that can send the updates to next semester's classes without having to send updates to existing classes.

I have Canvas set to drop the lowest quiz score, however, my students can only barely tell that the grade text is slightly grey when dropped. Can it have a tag like the "missing" and "exempt" ones in the student gradebook?
