How do I access quiz results from a Preview in classic quizzes?

I've searched the community and guide and see results for New Quizzes when using preview. I saved the preview version of an exam in Classic because a student was having technical problems, and we couldn't find another way for him to take the test quickly. But I cannot find the results anywhere, even though I submitted the preview and it said, 'saved.'

By preview, do you mean that you were using the "View as Student" capability and allowed the student to complete the exam? If so, then you can open SpeedGrader for that Classic Quiz and select "Test Student" from the list of students. If you clicked "Reset Student", then this does not work.

If you were on the Quiz page and clicked Preview, then those results are not stored once you leave the quiz page. This is documented in the 2016-03-12 release notes in the section on Quizzes.

Instructors can only preview quizzes in Canvas. Previewing a quiz allows instructors to complete a quiz the same way that students will complete the quiz, including submitting the quiz. However, an official quiz submission is never created in Canvas.

It then goes on to explain that this was a fix to a bug. Previously, if an instructor took a quiz, then they were no longer able to manage the quiz, including unpublishing it. The fix was to make it so that instructors can only preview a quiz, but the side effect is that it is not stored after leaving the page.

Oh dear. Yes, I was using the Preview function, not View as Student. Thank you for the information, I really appreciate it. Why did it say, "Saving" when I hit Submit after the student completed the Preview? When I tested it before giving it to him, I was able to see answers submitted and the corrections, but when he completed the exam, I couldn't access the same information.

I have Canvas set to drop the lowest quiz score, however, my students can only barely tell that the grade text is slightly grey when dropped. Can it have a tag like the "missing" and "exempt" ones in the student gradebook?
