How do I enter Assignments without students being notified about them? (I have a daily grade to reco

I have a "Daily" which students are to do every.single.day and so there is a grade associated with it. Thus, I enter an assignment for each day so that I can record the grade. However, one student is rather unnerved by all the assignment announcements coming in email. Is there a way that I can suppress those notifications, please?

Hi @EdwardThome ...

You cannot control and/or configure notifications that your students receive via their own communication methods, but they can control that on their own.  In fact, all users (no matter if you are a student or an instructor) are able to control their own notification settings both at the entire user level and per course.  Notifications can be sent out immediately, daily, weekly, or not at all.  Here are the two Guides that you could give your students:

* How do I manage my Canvas notification settings? (this is for your entire Canvas user account)
* How do I manage notifications for a single course? (this is for individual courses)

Again, all users are able to configure their own notification settings based on their personal preferences.  So, you won't be able to configure anything as a "default" for your students.
