This behavior has been resolved and deployed to the production environment as of 6/4/25.
Description
When uploading an audio file directly via the Rich Content Editor (RCE) in Canvas, the audio player does not display timing information, such as elapsed or remaining time.
Expected Behavior
Playback time should appear within the media player for all media files
Workaround
Timer does still appear within the files page just not on a page where the file is embeded
Steps to Reproduce

Create a item: page, assignment, discussion, etc. that Uses RCE within a course
-
in the RCE within the newly created item upload or embed a .mp3 media file.

Wait for the file to upload then save the page

Note the file no longer displayed any timer for the playback
