Situation: I created several item banks in my canvas course to test different skills. I have an item bank with just matching questions, another with just fill-in questions and a third with short essay questions. I would like to add all three item banks to test the skills in increasing order of difficulty: matching, fill-in the blank, then short essay. When I add these item banks, Canvas doesn't randomize the item bank questions in the order the item bank was added. It randomizes all the item banks together. Students may get a fill-in question followed by a short essay then a matching question.
How do I keep the item bank questions separate in their own question category?
