From my understanding, these are the standard editing/options buttons in Canvas and thus cannot be removed unfortunately. The title shouldn't wrap as much when students view this as these buttons will not be present in their view (you could test this in student view).

Hello from the future! It seems this text-wrapping issue is still around. Narrowing the width of the browser will eventually force single-character text rows, but if you narrow further past a certain threshold (1035-ish pixels in my testing, but this might vary on the length of the words in the title of the page), the text will resize and become readable again. Per Daniel's comment, this still doesn't seem to impact student-view. IE, some browser window widths will trigger this problem, so when possible, resize your browser window to a larger or smaller width.
