It's been more than a few weeks that I've been using canvas in the Edge browser, because in the Google Chrome browser the home screen is just completely white without the tasks appearing.

If your Chrome browser and your device operating system both up to date? In my experience, the most common cause of the white screen is an outdated browser/operating system. In addition to ensuring things are updated, you could try clearing your Chrome cache to see if that resolves the issue.
Hope one of these help! Let us know!
