Sending a message to another student via inbox

I just wanted to send a message, as I can’t seem to be able to send other students a message in my Nuku inbox. When I go to search for a student, the only names I can see are myself and the teacher, no one else pops up.

 

Is there any way I can fix this?

You mention Nuku but I'm going answer assuming you are writing about the Conversations (Inbox) in Canvas. My guess is that the permissions setting for your role prevent you from sending messages to individual course members. Your best bet is to ask your teacher how to facilitate communications with your classmates. 

If you are writing about a separate tool, the same is likely true but your teacher is still the best person to ask.
